Sports Lottery Lucky 7

Lucky 7 is administered by the China Sports Lottery, with draws held on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sunday nights at 8.30pm. Players pay RMB2 for each Lucky 7 ticket they purchase, with the aim of matching the seven-digit code drawn in exact order.

Should they match the entire code drawn in order, the player wins 90 percent of the prize fund – as much as RMB5 million – after the fixed prizes in lower tiers have been deducted.

Out of the money raised through ticket sales, half is paid out in prizes, with one percent kept in an adjustment fund for emergencies and to fund special awards. Another 15 percent is withheld by the lottery to cover administration costs and 35 percent is transferred to the Welfare Fund, which is used to aid a variety of sporting and charitable causes across China. See the main China Sports Lottery page for more details of how the Welfare Fund makes a difference in society.

How to Play Lucky 7

Players choose a seven-digit code between 0000000 and 9999999 to play a simple Lucky 7 bet, or allow the lottery machine to select one at random on their behalf. Prizes are won by matching anything from two numbers together in the correct place in the winning line.

Players can also choose to buy a Teaser bet, in which they can pick up to ten numbers, allowing them to win with any seven-digit combination of the ten chosen. The more numbers a player selects, the higher the price of their ticket as they have more chance of winning.

Lucky 7 Prizes

There are six Lucky 7 winning prize tiers, with the jackpot offering a multimillion-yuan payout. The top prize is won by matching all seven numbers in the correct order, with second prize claimed by matching six of the seven digits in consecutive order and in the correct position in the winning line. For example, if the winning code was 7654321, you would receive the second prize if you had selected X654321 or 765432X, with the same principle working in the other tiers as well.

The odds of matching the winning code in full with a single bet are 1 in 10 million. Here are all of the winning tiers and the prizes on offer:
